In November, Seattle voters will decide on the biggest levy in Seattle history – $930 million over nine years. Tell us where you stand on this ambitious Move Seattle transportation measure at the next Seattle Speaks — a live, televised public forum, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Town Hall Seattle, 1119 8th Ave.
The levy would be paid for through a property tax and replace an existing transportation levy that expires at the end of 2015. Some critics say the proposal is a collection of disconnected projects and question where the levy dollars will go. Supporters say levy investments offer more choices to move people and goods around Seattle safely and affordably and will help the city keep pace with growth.
Hosted by Seattle CityClub, Seattle Channel and Town Hall, Seattle Speaks is a live, interactive conversation about pivotal moments in our city’s history. Join local leaders, critics and residents to discuss how Move Seattle could impact our community and commute! Take the pre-poll! Admission is free, but seating is limited. Register via CityClub.
