If you plan to hit this year’s Seattle Art Fair, don’t miss Art Zone with Nancy Guppy: Live at King Street Station, my very own freewheeling “pop-up talk show.” For three nights, Aug. 5 to 7, I’ll interview local artists from all genres in front of a live audience in a beautiful brick-walled space at King Street Station. Portions of the show will be taped and included in future episodes of Art Zone.
Musical guests will include guitarist Bill Frisell, actress and singer Sarah Rudinoff and bandleader and bassist Evan Flory-Barnes. Plus, I’ll interview my old boss, producer Bill Stainton, about a recently published history of Almost Live!, Seattle’s legendary sketch-comedy TV show.
Each night features an entirely different lineup of music, dance, comedy, visual art and worthless prize giveaways!
Admission is free, but you’ll need a ticket. You can pick up tickets on the day of each show one hour before show time at King Street Station, 303 S. Jackson St. Please note that the Friday show has a later start time.
Friday, Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (seating starts at 6 p.m.)
Saturday, Aug. 6, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. (seating starts at 4:30 p.m.)
Sunday, Aug. 7, 5 p.m.–6 p.m. (seating starts at 4:30 p.m.)
This pop-up talk show is part of the 3 Rooms collaboration on the second floor of King Street Station, which also features a pop-up gallery from studio e, and a pop-up shop curated by JOIN Design.
