We’re seeking a communications intern to help us raise awareness of Seattle Channel and its award-winning content. As a municipal TV station, we present a range of programs on cable channel 21 and online to help residents connect with their city.
We’re looking for a college intern to write and distribute our weekly e-mail viewer guide, draft copy for the web and social media and assist with scripts, events and data entry. The paid internship is 10 hours per week and runs from mid-January to mid-June 2016.
Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and be able to work efficiently and accurately. Interest in and knowledge of local public affairs, arts and the Seattle community is a plus.
Our communication interns not only sharpen their communications skills, they gain a broader understanding of the public sector and the inner workings of municipal government as well as exposure to TV production. Plus, it’s a great educational break from that stack of books!
