The Roots of Empathy program aims to teach kindness and understanding through interaction with a baby, and what the kids are learning will become lessons for life. Then join host Nicole Sanchez at Seattle City Hall, where we’ll learn about a local network of neighborhood news blogs and meet with city officials in preparation for Seattle City Hall’s Open House event this coming Saturday, January 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We’ll also take a journey to some local area food banks to find out how to help this winter season. Then, we’ll meet some very special sisters at Camp to Belong, a camp that reunites siblings separated by foster care for one fun-filled week.

Join CityStream and host Nicole Sanchez at the Central Library of the Seattle Public Library for a look at this ambitious attempt to create new avenues of community and support. Next, we’ll explore some of the city’s newest green spaces, located in some unexpected places. Then, prepare to go deep, as we meet some local filmmakers who make their movies beneath the briny blue.

It’s a passenger ferry that runs from South Lake Union to the University of Washington…but will it float? SEATTLE CHANNEL was honored to receive four Emmy awards from the Northwest Chapter of National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) on Saturday, June 11.

“SEATTLE CHANNEL’s entire staff shares in these awards. They are dedicated professionals who work very hard to preserve the quality of our programming. The breadth of these awards—from writing to interactivity—shows how the Channel staff excels at skills as new as the 21^st century and as ancient as language itself,” said Gary Gibson, the director of the Office of Electronic Communications.
