Also, The Young Evils blow the doors off of the studio. (Note: the band kindly replaced the doors afterwards.)

Jim Page: 40 Years in Seattle

This 90-minute, in-concert special captures one of Seattle’s most beloved and politically savvy songwriters: Jim Page. The occasion: A sold-out concert celebrating his 40 years playing music in Seattle filmed in the intimate surroundings of the Seattle Public Theatre at the Bathhouse on Green Lake. Many of Page’s musical collaborators join in the celebration, including Artis the Spoonman, nightingale Erin Corday, dobro virtuoso Orville Johnson, harmonica soulster Grant Dermody and 12-string slide guitar wonder Sam Weis.

Discover the History of Grunge on An Evening With Mark Yarm

Twenty years after the release of Nirvana’s landmark Nevermind album, music writer Mark Yarm released Everybody Loves Our Town: An Oral History of Grunge, a first-hand account of this pivotal(and often narratively muddy) era, featuring anecdotes straight from the mouths of musicians, producers, managers, record executives, video directors, photographers, reporters, club owners, roadies, scenesters, and hangers-on. Don some flannel and watch as he tells the whole story: the founding and early successes of Seattle’s own Sub Pop record label; the rise of powerhouses such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam; the insane media hype surrounding the grunge explosion; the suicide of Kurt Cobain; and finally, the genre’s mid-to-late nineties decline.
