State lawmakers are expected to go into a second special session on Friday to complete work on a two-year operating budget. Does the governor have a plan to break the political logjam? Inslee joins host Joni Balter for a one-on-one conversation about the protracted legislative session, education funding and more. Plus, what are state officials doing in response to Washington’s drought emergency? Climate scientist Mass of the University of Washington weighs in on the drought, global warming and our weird weather.

Balter will be joined by a panel of journalists that includes Eli Sanders from The Stranger, Crosscut’s state government correspondent John Stang and KUOW’s Ashley Ahern. Bring your questions, too!

Civic Cocktail – presented by Seattle Channel, Seattle CityClub and Crosscut – offers a night of networking, civic conversation, Tom Douglas appetizers and a no-host bar. Register online via CityClub. Tickets are $20 for Crosscut and Seattle CityClub members and $25 for the general public.
