“A cold-blooded, premeditated shooting”: Veteran officer killed
The fatal shooting of Seattle Police Department Officer Timothy Brenton, 39, on Saturday, October 31, in the Leschi neighborhood, has shocked Seattle. Mayor Greg Nickels expressed the mourning and outrage felt by the city at large. “Our community is in shock at this brutal and senseless crime. All City flags have been lowered to half mast and the Seattle City Council will pay tribute to Brenton at its Full Council meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 02. The Seattle Times newspaper has extensive coverage of the crime and its investigation. TV stations, KING, KOMO and KIRO, have several print and video stories about the shooting on their websites.
